Diodorus was hard to win with on the Flat but, despite never threatening an easy winner, made a satisfactory hurdling debut at Carlisle and looks to have a future. Young Lieutenant was running well prior to a shocking performance in a small field at Plumpton. Reunited with Richard Johnson, it would be no surprise to see him bounce back but THOR DES CERISY does set a decent standard and has had wind surgery since hanging under pressure at Ffos Las last time.
