    Verdict

Venetia Williams has her string well forward this season and Thesis looks to have been found a good opportunity to carry on the good work started when he got off the mark over hurdles at Worcester in May - although, it will not be plain sailing and it could be rewarding to make a few notes on the rest. The Nicky Henderson-trained Ken'tucky made a favourable impression in bumpers last season and was not rushed into things as the season went on. But, he is likely to need this as he makes his debut over timber today and is best watched. Where as, Petrula hinted that he could win races after a sound effort at Sedgefield last month. He should be watched closely for each way support from the betting ring. However, Paul Nicholls' French import, Lord Lington is the most interesting of the rest and could be the one to pose the biggest threat. Nicholls' newcomer was a winner at around a mile and a half on the Flat in his home land and appears to handle a fair bit of cut in the ground according to his profile. However, as he is an unknown quantity at the moment, he may be best watched. Which leaves Thesis as the logical choice after showing a fair amount of ability when asked a question in each of his three outings over hurdles. Brian Crowley gets on well with the five-year-old and another bold bid is anticipated.
