Verdict
Young Lorcan can return to winning ways at the expense of Hever Road and Finzi, with Flying Trix worth keeping in mind for the future. Young Lorcan has in the main been in good form so far this season, having won two and been placed twice from four starts, and at the weights he should prove too strong for Hever Road. Kate Waldron's charge, who has been confined solely to Uttoxeter since returning to the fray, seems adaptable as regards switching between hurdles and fences, and will relish the conditions today. Richard Spate seems to have built up a good relationship with the 10-year-old, and there is no reason why he should not run a big race on this, his first visit to Warwick. With the Martin Pipe team in much better form now, Hever Road will be fancied to step up on his chase debut second to Alcatras at Fontwell last month. He had some useful form over hurdles and should be placed to score soon. Finzi was second to the selection in November and is now better off at the weights, but he has failed to improve on that promising comeback in two subsequent outings so is again opposed, while Flying Trix has been off over a year and is best watched. All in all, Young Lorcan looks set to resume winning ways.
