    Verdict

Peintre Ster sprang a 50/1 shock on the Polytrack at Lingfield on Monday, for which he carries a 7lb penalty. But, generally speaking, those with experience look a modest bunch and that includes Thomas Crapper, who only beat one home when made favourite for his Towcester debut. This could chiefly concern newcomers Cocoa Minnie and VALDEZ, therefore, with preference for Alan King's Doyen gelding who is closely related to winners in Britain, France and the States and is sure to have been well prepared.
