In depth

Verdict

As we always say in these events keep a close eye on the betting market, but Saratogane is likely to head the list of prices and gets the verdict over Cape Guard and the newcomer Lets Cast Again. Martin Pipe's filly found plenty in front when asked to quicken things up on her debut at Towcester and she went on to comfortably beat today's rival Zhivago's Princess. She is a half-sister to connections' smart hurdler Lough Derg and obviously possesses a slice of his ability. Cape Guard made a very pleasing debut Sword Of Damascus, and as that winner followed up next time the form does look rock solid. Lets Cast Again is a well bred son of Mark Of Esteem and his powerful trainer will no doubt have him fit for his debut. However there was plenty to like about Saratogane's victory and she looks set to remain unbeaten.
