Flying Fuselier is given the verdict here, ahead of Ask The Gatherer and First Tee. The selection displayed vast improvement from last season when finishing a close up third behind refinement at Uttoxeter. You have to forgive his last effort when never at the races, but he has to be the choice on that debut run. Ask The Gatherer returned from a long lay to beat a modest bunch at Plumpton last time. He did it nicely and so long as he doesn't bounce he should be involved in the finish. First Tee looks the pick of the newcomers. Former decent flat handicapper Archduke Ferdinand may prove best of the others, but Flying Fuselier is forgiven his last effort and is given another chance.
