      Verdict

Harley will not mind the underfoot conditions and is taken to follow up his Wetherby success at the main expense of Ressource and Vicentio. The last mentioned also won last time out but that was in a selling handicap at Fakenham and this looks tougher off a 6lb higher mark. Pat Haslam has his team in good form at present so Middleham Park has to be respected despite the burden of top weight, although a bigger threat may come from My Retreat, who showed improved form at Hereford last time. Ressource is a consistent performer and is entitled to again be thereabouts, while Robbie On Tour is lightly raced and represents the powerful stable of Martin Pipe. Ginger McCain has had another good season so Balmoral Queen is another worthy of a mention making his reappearance but the vote goes to Harley. Pam Sly's string has never been in better form than at present and the son of Alderbrook confirmed his well being with a smooth success at Wetherby. A 7lb rise may not be enough to stop him from following up.
