PERFECT FRIEND is taken to get the better of Billberry with Dickie Le Davoir and Gazboolou likely to be in the thick of the action. Market support for Billberry would look significant given his connections but he's a far better performer on artificial surfaces than he is on grass and the percentage call is to take him on as he has yet to taste success on turf in twelve attempts. Dickie Le Davoir is more versatile and came within a head of recording a tenth career success at Pontefract last time which will see his mark rise by 3lbs in the future and he's entitled to go close. Gazboolou's last three wins have all been on the all-weather but he has come within inches of adding to his sole turf success in recent starts and should be on the premises again from a mark which is by no means beyond him. Silver Guest may show a little more now that he has got a couple of starts under his belt this season as he's attractively weighted at best but he's another that has yet to win on turf so preference is for Perfect Friend who didn't run too badly at Salisbury last time and is 6lbs lower than her last winning mark.
