Verdict

This doesn't look the strongest of maidens and One Off wouldn't have to be anything out of the ordinary to make a winning debut. He runs here in preference to four other engagements this week. It was quite a hot maiden in which Pagan Storm made his debut in at Newmarket and he can be expected to leave that effort well behind. The form of that race received a boost by the subsequent victories of both the winner and second. The booking of Pat Eddery for Sri Diamond catches the eye and is one to note if the market speaks in his favour, but the vote goes to Ransom O'War, who shaped with plenty of promise behind a useful yardstick in Jay Gee's Choice at Haydock.
