It can pay to give Night Lily another chance and she gets a speculative nomination ahead of Holberg and Political Matters. The Reg Hollinshead-trained Ipdipdoo is another to bear in mind, as she would not need to be anything special to go close in this company. The betting market will be a good gauge where she is concerned. Political Matters is another debutant that fits the bill on paper. There are plenty of winners in his family and he looks a nice prospect for the future. The same comments apply to Holberg, whose debut run was hardly inspirational but he did drop a hint of ability. Like a number of the others, time will be the best cure to nurture his talents and he is one to keep in mind as he gains in experience. However, Night Lily sets the standard on the evidence available and, assuming that she has brushed aside what was on her mind at Brighton last month, the daughter of Night Shift can give us a good run for the money - especially if she runs to the level of her previous outing at Newmarket.
