Verdict

Another tricky race for punters to assess and Dansilver is the suggestion, with King's Fable, Sovietta and Garafena others to consider. The selection was the easy winner of a Southwell handicap last time despite Neil Callan losing his whip some way out. He has gone up a fair looking 8lbs for that success, but he looks capable of going in again. King's Fable has not yet won beyond 12f and even this extra couple of furlongs looks a bit of a problem to the Karen George-trained gelding, so we will take him on for stamina reasons. Lupita will have no trouble on that score and won over 2m 1f at Bath last month. Her last run was too bad to be true, so you'd have to put a line through it if you fancy a punt and trust her to return to the form of that previous effort. Sovietta was a 1m 4f Kempton winner last time out and has not scored over any further than that trip, which does not augur well for this handicap, though she does acts around this track. Garafena looks a doubtful stayer on pedigree, but Merrymaker gets every yard of this and is back on a winning mark, so if handling the track and conditions he looks a dangerous opponent, but preference here is for Dansilver.
