This looks a tight handicap with several holding decent claims. Kilmurvy was winning for the first time since 2015 when successful at Newton Abbot in July while Morney Wing has been hit with a 12lb rise for a wide-margin victory at Fontwell. Mick Easterby’s veteran Ganbei has each-way claims but Alex Hales could hold the key to this. The Edgcote handler runs two but RUNNING WOLF has seen action more recently than Indian Native. The seven-year-old was placed twice in the summer and is worth another try over this longer trip. Irish Octave won over 3m here in May and later at Bangor so looks the pick of the remainder ahead of Travertine, Gardiners Hill and Amiral Collonges.
Travertine (IRE) 16-1 (10-8) Settled in rear, headway after 4 out, jumped well until blundered 3 out, soon rallied, weakened before last, 4th of 5, 14 1/4l behind Drovers Lane (11-3) at Hereford 3m 1f hcp (3) gf in Oct.
Amiral Collonges (FR) 18-1 (11-8) Towards rear, hampered and unseated rider 1st, at Doncaster 3m hcp (4) gs in Feb.
Morney Wing (IRE) 3-1 (11-13) With leader, led narrowly 14th, drew clear after 4 out, in no danger after after, very easily, won at Fontwell 3m 2f hcp (5) gf in Oct beating Quinto (10-12) by 24l, 6 ran.
Ganbei 6-1 (11-5) In rear, pushed along in last briefly after 4th, headway on outside 13th, 4th before 2 out, one pace, 4th of 7, 12 3/4l behind Belmount (12-0) at Perth 3m hcp (4) gd in Sep.
Indian Native (IRE) 6-1 (11-12) Tracked leader, led 6th, headed next, led 10th, headed when lunged at 2 out and pecked, no chance with winner after, 2nd of 5, 27l behind The Bay Birch (10-13) at Towcester 2m 4f hcp (4) hvy in Mar.
Irish Octave (IRE) 6-1 (11-0) Always in rear, weakened 12th, rallied 2 out, kept on under pressure, never nearer, 4th of 10, 18 1/2l behind Red Giant (11-7) at Bangor 3m hcp (4) gd in Aug.
Running Wolf (IRE) 8-1 (11-12) Held up towards rear of main group, chased leaders 13th, struggling 4 out, went modest 3rd 2 out, plugged on same pace, never a threat, 3rd of 8, 17l behind Kilfinichen Bay (11-11) at Cartmel 3m 1f hcp (4) gf in Jul.
Kilmurvy (IRE) 3-1 (10-12) Chased leaders on outside, went 2nd 14th, led next, clear before 2 out, stayed on well, driven out, won at Newton Abbot 3m 2f hcp (4) gs in Jul beating David John (11-9) by 3l, 5 ran.
Gardiners Hill (IRE) 8-1 (11-6) Held up, tried to run out on inside approaching 1st, soon mid-division, lost place 8th, steady progress approaching 3 out, slight lead last, ridden and headed flat, not quicken close home, 2nd of 9, 3/4l behind Gonnabegood (11-3) at Ffos Las 3m hcp (5) gs in Oct.
Maybe Plenty 16-1 (11-8) Prominent, hit 10th, lost place 5 out, weakened and pulled up before next, at Cheltenham 3m 1f (4) gd in May.
