In depth

Verdict

This may turn out to be a decent contest. Blue Laureate was useful on the Flat but the going would be a concern on his hurdling debut. Capac landed the odds in a Taunton bumper in April and could be anything. Kaymar was second in a Worcester bumper in June and Lough Har was runner-up over hurdles at the same track last time. West Cork also found only one too good at Wetherby last month, though was receiving almost a stone from the winner. Whatsupwithyou was progressive between the flags last winter and Ben Pauling has done well with similar types but we’ll take a chance on another ex-pointer, HOMETOWN BOY. He found 2m in a bumper here last month too short and will enjoy the longer trip and soft going.
