Irish Dancer is selected to get losses back, with Always Best, Callisto Moon and Royal Tender taken to give her most to do. This has the look of a fairly competitive event, so only a small wager is advised on Irish Dancer who was sent off as favourite on her reappearance at Folkestone recently. That was her first try over 10-furlongs, and in truth she was found wanting in third, so John Dunlop now steps her up further in trip in a bid to get the losses back. She may or may not excel, so is no good thing, but should have the scope to do well as the season progresses. Catterick winner Always Best disappointed on her follow-up bid at Pontefract and is now tried in first-time blinkers, while Callisto Moon only scraped home at Warwick and has topweight as a result. Royal Tender is going the right way, and both Chiff Chaff and Marju's Gold have done enough to suggest that they will pay their way. Many in with chances then, but the pin comes down on Irish Dancer.
