Ponente and Romanova are closely matched on Newbury debut form and both warrant respect but this may well go to one of the newcomers with Literature marginally preferred to Lysandra. The last mentioned is a daughter of Danehill, trained by Sir Michael Stoute. A half-sister to a couple of winners, she has to be respected but Literature makes more appeal. Godolphin have done well with their juveniles this term and this daughter of Notebook, who comes from a good family, makes plenty of appeal on pedigree. Tarabut, a daughter of Green Desert and out of a half-sister to Esloob, takes the eye on breeding but hails from the stable of Ed Dunlop that is hardly known for their success with first time out two-year-olds. Ponente and Romanova have claims and are entitled to strip fitter for their run behind Shanghai Lily though of more interest may be Rae Guest's Grandma's Girl, who showed improved form at Brighton last time and hails from a stable in good heart at present. Literature makes plenty of appeal on pedigree though and she gets the nod.
