With plenty of cut in the ground we will side with Ellmau to take this novices' contest, with Tamrai Dancer the obvious danger and Distant Charm another leading player. Ellmau won at the first time of asking at Southwell and although that fibresand form does not always translate to cut on turf, his sire Dr Fong acted well with plenty of cut and it is on that basis, plus his potential for improvement, that he gets the nod. Tamrai Dancer won a 5f contest here last time of soft and now steps up to this trip. On pedigree she should be suited by that and so she can clearly give the selection plenty to do. Distant Charm is another previous winner in the contest, having taken a Lingfield maiden last time. However, the going here should put paid to his chances and he is opposed. Rub Of The Relic has not been in bad form in defeat but may have to wait for another day, but Ellmau began well and can continue winning form here.
