A tentative nomination is given to Paso Doble, who rates as good each-way value in a wide open finale. Kernel Dowery, Bundaberg and Prairie Law are others that can be shortlisted as dangers, while Serramanna also has claims is he turns up in the right frame of mind. Serramanna was two and a half lengths behind the selection when they met at Chepstow last week but had previously been in good form. There may have been a valid excuse for his modest run but he does now have a bit to prove. Prairie Law gets the trip well and should be capable of giving his supporters a good run for their money. However, he has been hard to win with since he arrived here from Germany and he is basically not one to place too much faith in. Bundaberg is holding his form well at present and arrives here on the back of several near misses. However, that tells the whole story about his career on turf and he needs luck on his side to break his duck on grass. Kernel Dowery has a similar profile but has at least won a couple of modest races. The trip is about right for him and again, he is one that should run his race. However, Paso Doble makes slightly more appeal at the likely odds. The seven-year-old has a good record of making the frame in races of this nature and, as today's rider knows him inside out, we can expect another honest run from the Rod Millman-trained gelding.
