Devils River signed off in the spring with a game Towcester victory but the horse seems to relish racing at that track and is entitled to need this run, his first in 191 days. With that in mind and an 6lb rise to contend with we'll take him on with THAT'S THE DEAL. John Cornwall's charge attracted a good deal of market support ahead of his handicap debut and ran a fine race to finish third, having helped set a decent tempo. He did shape as though a return to further wouldn't hurt but, with that run behind him and a lesser class of opponent, he's worth backing to get off the mark. Corredor Sun stepped up on a modest debut over fences despite not staying at Huntingdon so, with the drop in distance a huge plus, he's considered a threat along with Red Jester, who drops in grade and is just 4lbs higher than when winning this last year.
