Richard Hannon is in irresistible form and CANDLESHOE is fancied to expand on the recent haul of prize-money; Ela Gorrie Mou and Simla Sunset are obvious dangers, while Light Dubai is also capable of getting involved for a share of the spoils. The last named may be well handicapped but she does need to stop the rot pretty soon to avoid sliding into handicap obscurity. Simla Sunset won a maiden on the all-weather last November and has subsequently proved she can hold her own in a better grade. She does have a bit to prove under top weight, though. Ela Gorrie Mou was flying when last seen in action and would be given a stronger build up had he proved his race fitness. An absence of 233 days has to be a concern at any stage of the campaign but there is a long way to go and he may still have a few more paydays ahead of him. However, Candleshoe has far more scope on than a good number of the rest and, having posted solid efforts at Goodwood, Windsor and Epsom, he is fancied to improve again now he has proved an undulating surface holds no fears for him. In summary: Candleshoe is gets the nod over Ella Gorrie Mou.
