In a modest start to the Warwick card, MOON LIGHTNING gets a speculative vote of confidence ahead of Crocodile Bay and Castle Myth. The selection made a pleasing return to action at Yarmouth last month and, with today's firmer ground expected to be in his favour, his trainer, Mark Tompkins, has found a suitable opportunity to strike while he is still relatively fresh. Castle Myth is a useful tool in this grade and as Dale Swift is currently riding with plenty of confidence Brian Ellison's charge is also respected as a live danger. Crocodile Bay hasn't won for going on two years but is fairly treated as a result. It's noteworthy that he was very well supported last time out and, with the return to a mile in his favour; a bold show can be anticipated. A case can also be stated for Shared Moment on the pick of her efforts - a leap of faith is required judging by recent performances, though. However, Moon Lightning is a likely type for a race of this nature and appeals as the best option in division one of the apprentice riders' handicap.
