From a shortlist that contains Scarlet Mix, Siegfrieds Night, Biscar Two and Dhedaah, the vote goes to Scarlet Mix. A winner over the extended 10-furlong trip at Chantilly before finding his way to the champion trainer Martin Pipe, it is very hard to escape the attentions of Scarlet Mix, who will know his job and, unless the market tells a radically different story, looks the likeliest winner of this race. Siegfrieds Night won well at Cartmel on his debut and, with the runner-up running well since, the form is fairly solid for the time of year and he should go well again. Biscar Two's third to Calomeria at Haydock has also been subsequently franked with the winner winning again, so he too must be considered, while Dhedaah, who showed promise on that occasion, has just over seven lengths to find with him on that Merseyside form. Kings Rock was well beaten in the same race. Flat winner Oh Golly Gosh is possibly one to look out for in the betting. Martin Pipe's Alikat looks to be the stable second string, but it would be hard to build a strong case for any of the others. Once again, then, the vote goes to Scarlet Mix.
