tracked leader, left in lead 6th, driven out
led, stumbled and headed 6th, weakened after next
jumped slightly right, tracked leaders, went 2nd after 6th, every chance 3 out, ridden approaching last, kept on same pace
From a shortlist containing all bar the Advance East, the vote goes to Bearaway. Manoram made the most of the departure of the market leaders at Cheltenham six days ago. Much as that race consequently took a lot less winning, he comes here in good heart and is entitled to go well. Bearaway looked to be back to his best after previously flopping when second to Bobosh last time and he too warrants consideration. Newick Park has proven himself competitive from around today's mark and is a course and distance scorer, although he lacks a recent outing. Brigadier du Bois is interesting over fences having shown bits of hurdling form, a sphere in which he was certainly not overfaced, but the 12-year-old Advance East will be doing well to score after such a long layoff. Overall, then, we feel that his penalty might just hinder Manoram, so the vote goes to Bearaway.
