In depth

Verdict

Lord Chamberlain gets the tentative nod ahead of Joshua's Gold and Physical. Lord Chamberlain customarily delivers a withering late run in his races but backers can have confidence that the veteran is in good form and that a decent apprentice has been booked. Joshua's Gold should come on for his most recent run at Wolverhampton. That did follow a 149-day absence and having performed well on this surface previously, a good account should be expected. Physical had been running consistently in recent months but blobbed badly at Kempton. His turf form does leave a lot to be desired so market support would be interesting. Taminoula has never won on the all-weather but has to be considered on a return to turf. A good apprentice has been booked and 55 could be a winnable mark. Prince Of Gold is a rare visitor to the turf and is sure to be played late. Prince Of The May makes a return after producing an eye catching run at Salisbury last summer. A difficult race in which Lord Chamberlain is offered at minimum stakes.
