In depth

Verdict

Royal Maid gets the call here ahead of Shaffishayes, Majic Dust, Sigwells Club Boy and It's A Wrap. The selection showed plenty of promise when, on only his third run, finished second in a Leicester seller. Admittedly, he has yet to race on this type of surface but Richard Johnson is an eye-catching booking. Shaffishayes is back in a grade at which he ought to be competitive while, on official ratings, Majic Dust and Sigwells Club Boy have to be right in the thick of the action. Neither, though, is conclusively proven on going of this nature. And It's A Wrap is another who, on only his second outing, finished second in a similar race last time. With all of this in mind, there could be a surprise as one or two of the others are relatively unexposed. Having to take a view, though, we'll stick with Royal Maid.
