Verdict

Some disappointing sorts line up here and it is more in hope than optimism that we plump for All Honey to oblige over Southerncrosspatch, Princess Claudia and Fountain Bank. All Honey does at least have winning form this season, the mare dropping back to the minimum trip to oblige here in May. It was a moderate contest and there is no guarantee that she will repeat the feat over this longer trip. However, the race is so weak that she must be a leading fancy and is selected ahead of the rest, the best of whom could be Princess Claudia who did not run too badly at Stratford on Friday night. If over those exertions she can make the frame along with Southercrosspatch who is a light of former days but a reproduction of any of his old form would actually be enough to win this. At the age of 12 though, there is no improvement to come and unless Theicecreamman can suddenly find more than he has shown, All Honey can prove the best of a bad bunch.
