Verdict

A competitive affair should concern the likes of Take Control, Jurancon 11, General Claremont and Our Jolly Swagman, but Enrique is taken to beat them all. Philip Hobbs and Richard Johnson are always a formidable force and they teamed up to score with this fellow at Ludlow a couple of years ago. he only had one outing last term when pulled up in the Scottish National but cam back with a bang at the Shropshire venue recently, surprisingly making most to oblige. Normally held up, Enrique is a beautiful jumper and that will stand him in good stead in the feature race on the card. Martin Pipe collected the prize 12 months ago with Stormez and now relies on Take Control, winner of last year's Scottish National but who has yet to recapture that form. The Nicolashayne maestro also saddles Jurancon 11, twice a winner here, but who would prefer soft ground. Any rain will increase his chance. General Claremont has been readied for this with two decent efforts and will not be far away, while Our Jolly Swagman is chasing a fourth successive victory and has a light weight. He also has more to do at this level though and as the likes of Ackzo and Lanmire Tower, useful as they are, have not shown enough to warrant support, we return to Enrique as the answer.
