In depth

Verdict

In-form Jimmy Frost can saddle Latin Queen to complete a hat-trick, with Miami Explorer and Macchiato put up as the main dangers if there are any. Having opened her account on softer ground at Chepstow at the beginning of May, Latin Queen proved that faster conditions hold no fear for her when bolting up at Newton Abbot six days later. She won by 10 lengths over a slightly longer trip than today's, but has enough pace to cope with the drop back, and her penalty in this mares' only event. Miami Explorer has been slower to learn her trade and did not help her cause with a mistake at the last at Hereford. She should be involved for a place at least though, along with Macchiato who will be better for her return. The rest have to improve markedly to figure, and Latin Queen should easily rattle up another win before eventually going chasing this autumn.
