Gallik Dawn lines up in search of a hat-trick and can defy topweight at the expense of Were Not Stoppin, Merry Path and Orswell Crest. Gallik Dawn has won twice over fences here already, and at the age of seven can be expected to add plenty more course victories to his credit. Mick Fitzgerald gave him a great ride the time before last and he was then partnered by Ruby Walsh when hacking up over further at Stratford. He is from the same family as Red Striker and Red Marauder and could well be a National type of horse in time. He has the class to beat today's opponents including Were Not Stoppin who was a beaten favourite when overhauled by Lanmire Tower at Market Rasen last time. He was staying on at the finish and will be a danger off his light weight. Merry Path gained his last win under rules for Oliver Sherwood five years ago but showed himself in good heart when successful between the flags recently. Orswell Crest has the ability but has been disappointing to follow, and we much prefer the claims of the progressive Gallik Dawn.
