RIO DE JANEIRO, Share Option and Gold Gun look the principals here, with Rio de Janeiro taken to land his second seller. Share Option has a sound chance at the weights, and takes a significant drop in grade here. His recent efforts have been dismal however, and it is hard to see him suddenly returning to form. However, this is a weak contest and he can hit the frame. Gold Gun should not be discounted, despite the fact he has not won since scoring on successive days at Perth two years ago. He has been paying for those successes since, and is still rated about the same mark. Dropped into a claimer last time and made odds on favourite, he was just run out of it. This is a chance for him to return to winning form but he may just find one too good. Rio de Janeiro has enjoyed his efforts at this level, slamming his rivals here over a slightly shorter trip last time. With his confidence restored, Rio de Janeiro can follow up for the new connections who bought him at the auction.
