In depth

Verdict

Portentoso was pulled up at Exeter after finishing second at Chepstow. Begoodtoyourself ended a long losing run at Carlisle at the start of the month but is an infrequent winner. Hugueneau still has plenty of scope but HI RIKO found one too good here two runs ago and again at Lingfield. The winner has franked that most recent form and Richard Hobson’s charge is due a change of luck. Jack Sprat won his penultimate start at Huntingdon but conditions today are a concern.
