Verdict

Catchthebug is plunged into handicap company on his chase bow, but can pay to follow at the expense of Beat The Heat, Dead-Eyed Dick and Giorgio to name but three. Catchthebug caught the eye in no uncertain terms with the manner of his all the way victory over hurdles here in July, but unfortunately he caught the handicapper's attention as well, and lined up off a mark of 107 at Bangor next time. That did not stop him from once again galloping his rivals into the ground, but another similar win or two over timber would make him very hard to place in future, so Jonjo has probably done the right thing by putting him straight over fences, and this progressive sort is one to keep very much on the right side of. Beat The Heat got round here in second place in the race won by Ball O Malt and the extra furlong should help his cause today, while Dead Eyed-Dick drops back to a more suitable trip after fading behind the selection's stablemate The Pennys Dropped at Newton Abbot. A blunder four out did not help his cause that day, and he can figure in the shake-up, having a had a little rest since. Giorgio was pulled up at Market Rasen last time but had shown decent enough form earlier and is also worth a mention, but Catchthebug goes well on this track, and can make all to score
