In depth

Verdict

Hereditary can prevail at the expense of Polinamix, Royal Kicks and Mountain Oscar. Hereditary has been a credit to connections, having won two of his four starts this season, and Linda Jewell's five -year-old looks set for more success before the handicapper finally has his measure. Successful twice at Fontwell, he lost no caste in defeat when third to United in the Grade 2 National Spirit Hurdle at the Sussex track last time, and will find this company much easier, despite the size of the field. The four-year-old Polinamix gets nearly a stone from the selection, and is worth a mention stepped up in trip today. He should have no stamina problems and is a danger. Royal Kicks is perhaps best watched on his first outing for Henry Daly, but is reckoned useful, and could make up into one to follow in time, while Mountain Oscar shaped well when runner-up on his hurdles debut at Ludlow, and along with Pur De Sivola and Tanners Court, should ensure that Hereditary does not have things all his own way. He has the best form on view though and is a confident choice.
