Verdict

Tom Wade would certainly have claims on the pick of his form and has been keeping better company than this. So has Spirit Is Needed, who was second to the useful Iolith at Taunton in December and filled the same spot behind Olympian in a handicap over 2m here last month. But we're going to stick with the previous winner BENEFICIAL REFORM, who has more scope than that pair and was very impressive in making a winning debut over timber at Ffos Las. Already successful in a point-to-point, James Ewart's gelding could have a big future over fences in time but can certainly pay his way over the smaller obstacles in the interim.
