There's a big field for this Handicap Hurdle but the unexposed CANDLE seems the obvious choice for our selection ahead of Phoenix Des Mottes and Festive Chimes. The selection was pretty useful on the flat winning off a mark off 82 and finishing his career in that sphere rated in the mid 90s. He's adapted pretty well to life over timber having placed in two novice events in his last two starts and the form from those suggest his mark is very competitive. Phoenix Des Mottes looks weighted to be involved on his handicap bow and while his last performance was disappointing he is reunited here with the jockey who steered him to victory on debut and the form from his penultimate start looks to support his cause. Festive Chimes has started to show signs of a slight return to form and if he is recapturing some of his previous best he looks to be off a featherweight rating so might need looking at while Zaffarella also makes the shortlist having won twice in her last three starts but as a result her mark is looking prohibitive. Plenty of runners to pick from here but Candle looks a strong selection.
