Grain De Thaix and Took The Lot look ones for the future. Manjaam was no match for Quloob at Fontwell but that was still a step forward. SHANTOU EXPRESS found only one too good at Stratford last month and will appreciate the extra yardage so gets the nod, though The Triple Pillar only just lost out at Warwick and is a danger. Midnight River placed in a couple of bumpers last season and should be even better over hurdles on pedigree but Flat winner Kannapolis was beaten a long way when runner-up at Fontwell.
