Welsh Main looks the answer here, with Pure Brief, Donovan and Erins Lass the other main players. Welsh Main lines up in search of a quick hat-trick after scoring at Hereford last Sunday and at Ludlow three days ago. His new trainer seems to have found the key to him, and as he is still very well handicapped compared to his hurdles mark, the eight-year-old should have no difficulty defying a seven-pound penalty with Tony McCoy once again in the saddle. Pure Brief has also won his last two starts, at Bangor and Southwell, and seems to have improved since going over fences. He was rated much lower than the selection over hurdles though and should be held again here. Donovan got going too late when favourite at Bangor last time and if put into the race sooner, can make his presence felt along with Erins Lass who did nothing wrong when scoring at Market Rasen. The ground may not be lively enough for her though, and in any case Welsh Main is the one to beat.
