        Verdict

        A poor race in which Lyon can follow up on his most recent win over course and distance at the expense of Piper Legend and Star Time. The selection was in winning form for Oliver Sherwood last time out but is now in the hands of David Wintle. Of course he carries a penalty for that success but this race looks weaker and he wont even need to reproduce his best to win this. Piper Legend ran well enough in a novice event at Uttoxeter last time out to suggest that he has the ability to win a race of some sort but he was beaten over twenty five lengths on that occasion so will need to improve. Star Time has bits of form but has been well beaten of late in similar races so is to be treated with caution so for the winner we return to Lyon.
