King Egbert is taken to gain revenge over Katie Killane, with Maromito and A Teen worth a mention at least. More Banded fare in the main at Kempton, but the winners are still there to be found, and clues as to the outcome of the opener can be found in a similar race that took place over the course-and-distance eight days ago. On that occasion, Katie Killane lost her maiden tag at the 22nd attempt, thanks to an inspired ride by Dane O'Neill who kicked on past halfway before holding on from the fast finishing King Egbert and Maromito, with A Teen further behind in fifth. Those mentioned all met off level weights then, but Katie Killane must now shoulder a penalty, and so it is King Egbert that gets the vote to turn the tables on 6lb better terms for a short-head. He made up a tremendous amount of ground inside the final two furlongs last time, and must surely be capable of finally getting his head in front on these terms. Any support for either of the David Chapman inmates, On The Trail and Sharp Hat, should not go unnoticed, but King Egbert looks the one to be on.
