Verdict

The market will be useful however from a shortlist of HABBIE SIMPSON, Alarm Bells and She's On The Case, it is Alan King's runner who is given the nod. Some of the bigger yards have won this race in the past and the second-best trainer in the land has a likely contender in newcomer Habbie Simpson. The stable have a 19% strike-rate in bumpers over the past few seasons, a statistic that is improved on slightly if we take just his runners here at Towcester. She's On The Case was a tad fortunate to be gifted the race at Fontwell but she faces very different conditions today and has more on her plate. Evella is a former Irish point-to-point winner who is starting off life on the racecourse at the right level, Reefer Beefer shaped with some promise at Worcester in May, whilst similar comments apply to the once-raced L'Eldorado. Holy Balloney's bumper form behind Wymott reads very well and this more testing track should suit, whilst Alarm Bells looks like an interesting newcomer and the market should help guide to the chance of this ¿80,000 purchase. A tricky end for punters but we will take a chance on Habbie Simpson.
