Auburn Spirit, a beaten favourite on his seasonal return 12 days ago, can make his fitness tell over Agincourt, Novatara and Secret Drinker. Auburn Spirit signed off last season with a fast-ground victory at Plumpton, and ran out of steam here on his return to action over hurdles recently. That will have blown the cobwebs away, and back over fences, Mark Usher's charge is the one to beat. Agincourt has been off the track a while, but his trainer John Upson gets plenty of winners round here, while Secret Drinker hails from a yard back on the rise after a lean patch last season. Novatara will surely need this, and the rest make limited appeal, so for the answer we return to Auburn Spirit who has obvious claims.
