In depth

Verdict

Ballybeen was going on strongly at the finish in a point at Monksgrange in September and can get involved here. CASEY WEST (NAP) was in touch when slipping up on his debut between the flags and was well supported when making his hurdling debut at Punchestown last month. He couldn't get close to Willie Mullins' Pont Aval that day but isn't likely to find one of that quality here. Garde Des Champs was narrowly beaten by Gortmillish at Portrush and the winner goes in the previous race but he disappointed at Mainstown next time. Patrick Mullins only has one booked ride all day, Don Chalant, a half-brother to a winning hurdler from a top staying family of chasers.
