SPECIAL CUVEE has the form in the book and although he has plenty of weight to carry he still looks to be the percentage call; the shortlist is made up of Ask Dan, Mintoe, King's Chorister and Digit. The selection has struggled to make an impact on his last two starts, but they were in better races and he should find this company easier off a mark of 65. Seb Sanders is back on board (rode him to victory at Folkestone in March) and a big run is expected. Shared Moment was an emphatic winner last time out at Nottingham; she has a little to find with the selection on their run at Yarmouth in April but has improved since and must be considered a big danger. Ask Dan won well at Carlisle in July and a repeat of that run would see him go close, with this cut in the ground possibly in his favour, whilst Blue Dagger is one to watch in the betting on his return to the track as he steps up in trip; he has been apprentice ridden on his three other runs but not today. Jiggalong will need to improve for the step up in trip but she is bred to get the distance, whilst Mintoe takes a drop in class today and cannot be overlooked. Digit has an entry on Wednesday evening but should be suited by the longer trip if she turns up here, whilst King's Chorister won well at Yarmouth on Tuesday but she will need a strong tempo to win this now dropped in trip. Paul Hanagan looks an interesting jockey booking for stablemate Silent Treatment, Join Up looks to be on a decent mark now, whilst Highly Acclaimed was poor last time but she is not totally exposed. An open heat, but we will side with top-weight Special Cuvee.
