Verdict

Maghazi is going the right way and can pay to follow ahead of Anchor Date and the Godolphin newcomer Africanus. Maghazi will be an interesting sort when going into handicap company, but before then can open his account after finishing second on each of his last two starts. The son of Fasliyev was a bit too keen for his own good when short-headed by Ocean Gift on his return from a break at Salisbury a fortnight ago, but with that run under his belt, can come good on what will be only his second start on Turf. Anchor Date was beaten by the selection's stablemate Takhleed on his Leicester return, and on a line through Ocean Gift, well ahead of him in the race won by Something at Newmarket next time, has it to do with the selection. Therefore Africanus may turn out to be a bigger threat, although the Godolphin newcomers have not exactly been setting the world alight. This son of Dubai Millennium is well-bred though and is worth watching in the market. Peters Delite is turning into a disappointment already, and so it is Maghazi who sets the standard.
