Auction Time caught the eye on her debut and is fancied to get one over on previous winners Granny Peel and Alittleriskie, while it will also be interesting to see how the market speaks about Poniard who is from a yard that enjoyed a cracking time with sprinters last season. Poniard is a half-brother to useful handicapper Strathclyde and appeals as one to monitor as he develops. At least another furlong will suit, in time, and he looks more of a long term prospect at this stage. Alittleriskie showed the benefit of experience with a gutsy victory in a Warwick selling race at the start of this month. The Rossini filly knuckled down well on that occasion and is respected in this company. However, it is debatable if she would have held Granny Peel, had she not tried to duck out at the furlong marker. It may be a different result between those two on this occasion. The Kevin Ryan-trained filly edged a narrow verdict at Redcar earlier in the week and it's interesting she is turned out so quickly. However, the same has to be said of Auction Time, who met all sorts of trouble during her introduction at Bath eleven days ago. The daughter of Auction House impressed with her attitude as he recovered to finish third. And a similar display of resolution would make her hard to beat this time around.
