Vercingetorix is perhaps not the force of old but the talented Iain Jardine has done so well to deliver a victory both over hurdles and on the level in four runs the topweight has enjoyed for the stable. His young rider was on board when the Dylan Thomas gelding obliged at Ayr and the combination should go well again off a 4lb higher mark. ITALIAN RIVIERA is interesting returned from an absence dating back to January after a disappointing hurdles run but he'd previously scored under both codes since joining Kenneth Slack and inhabits an attractive handicap mark. Market support would be noteworthy and he may still have more to offer on the Flat. Jan Smuts is solid and Stoneboat Bill will be dangerous if handling this considerable step-up in trip.
