FLAWED GENIUS, Osteopathic Remedy and Malcheek catch the eye here, with the well drawn Flawed Genius given a tentative vote in a wide open handicap. Malcheek slid down the handicap prior to a smooth success at Catterick on his re-appearance. He has gone up the handicap by 8lbs which may be prohibitive. Osteopathic Remedy is a course winner, and he has shown signs of a return to form. He will certainly be sharper after a couple of pipe openers, but may just need to come back down the handicap before scoring again. After some moderate efforts on the all-weather, he showed improved form last time to be fourth at Doncaster behind a useful type. He has come down another 2lbs, and is only a pound higher than when finishing a good second in a classy Newmarket handicap about a year ago. Flawed Genius has the inside draw on this tight track, and that may be enough to tilt things in his favour.
