A nice little handicap where Paradise Isle may provide the answer, with Tribute, Fyodor and Mr Wolf three others for the shortlist. Paradise Isle is a versatile type who has won over both five and six furlongs, and drops back to the minimum again today. She starts the season from a mark of 90, but there is plenty to suggest that she can improve beyond that from what we have seen. She goes well on this surface, has a turn of foot off a strong pace and possesses enough stamina to keep her going at the finish and she is our choice. David Loder has a very good record here and therefore Tribute merits respect. In receipt of 11lb from the selection, he can make his presence felt. Stuck in the mud on his seasonal reappearance at Chester last time, he can go much better here thought the suspicion is that he may be better over six furlongs. Fyodor looked smart enough in winning at Pontefract in August last year and then only just failing to follow up at Musselburgh next time. Well regarded by William Haggas, he should be straight enough to be involved in the finish first time out. Mr Wolf could start favourite after wins here and at Newcastle so far this term. Clearly he won't be found wanting for fitness, but he also gives the impression that six furlongs will be his optimum and although he has a good draw he is just overlooked with the selection, Paradise Isle.
