Water Quirl gets the call here over Marked Man and Polar Red. The Tony McCoy-ridden selection hails from the Christian von der Recke stable, which does so well in Britain, and he won well on his debut here over fences. Marked Man has a course win to his name and looks set to play a leading part here, while Polar Red, the best of these over hurdles, has done well so far over fences but has to concede weight to his opponents.
