Typically tough Thirsk sprint handicap fare in which CONVERSANT is taken to follow up a most authoritative victory at Doncaster for which he's been raised a hefty 9lb by the handicapper. However, he has shaped well on both starts for the O'Meara team since leaving Hugo Palmer and also seems to have benefited from a gelding operation judged by that recent success. He should go well in a difficult race to unravel. Rickyroadboy has to be a major consideration in receipt of weight all round as he's landed two of his last three starts, including a comfortable course and distance win latest. Enzo's Lad scored neatly enough last time and merits attention but the likes of Cocktail in his first handicap and Biddy Brady, far better off at the weights here with Rickyroadboy, make greater shortlist appeal.
