Princess Cleo showed improved form at Southwell last time when disqualified from first place after causing interference and is taken to gain compensation here at the main expense of Rothesay Dancer and Formal Decree. The last mentioned stepped up on debut form when second at Pontefract last time but Lynda Ramsden's colt was well held there and needs to improve. Kayrati ran well in a seller last time but this represents a step up in class for Kevin Ryan's filly. Mint, from the in-form David Barker stable, and David Barron's newcomer Sir Orpen, for who a market move would be of interest, are others worthy of a mention although a bigger threat is likely to come from Rothesay Dancer. Jim Goldie's filly has performed creditably of late and has to be respected but Princess Cleo has an obvious chance and gets the vote.
